The following is a commentary on an article written back in 1957 for BGEA’S Decision Magazine. This article is a warning from God through Billy Grahm about the coming judgment over America, which can be found here.
The first thing I want to discuss is the idolatry which Billy points out when discussing Jeremiah’s warning from God to Judah. I have seen people watching the news like one should read their Bible. Due to COVID-19’so arrival, I’ve seen where older people, understandably due to their risk, would watch EVERY. SINGLE. UPDATE. I’ve also seen similar scenes before the pandemic. I’ve heard my fair share of pessimism and people looking at the bad only. These are Christians I’m talking about. Billy says in this discourse that the god I worship is the thing that I pay most attention to. In the book of Matthew Chapter 6 verse 21, we read that where our heart is, our treasure is there also. People read this to mean that we should have a disdain for money. I believe that in the context of money, if I live and die only for money, then I worship money. However, if I’m just using it as a tool to advance God’s kingdom, I don’t.
On this note, Pastor Shane Idleman of Westside Christian Fellowship in Leona Valley, did an interview with Kim Walker-Smith of Jesus Culture in Sacramento. He said that one of the things that he looks for is how whoever the popular figure (in this case Kim Walker-Smith) handles money. Is it about giving away or selling merchandise. Etc.
I believe that when it comes to making money, I will never do this blog for the purposes of advertizing. If I write a book, I will give it away for free. If I ever need money bad enough (as of now, I live with my Grandma and Grandppa and don’t have to worry about that), I will go and work at Mardel’s or something of that sort to earn the money in other ways. However, I understand people that do have to sell merchandise or other items because whatever they are doing is fan-supported, such as The Chosen.
Anyway, back to the topic. Shane also did a video about QAnon, which I want to address. The first thing is the last thing he said, which is this: He asked the listener if they were spending too much time on the QAnon videos or if they were spending more time in the Word, prayer meetings, worship, etc. My warning is to you who watch any media: Are you watching the News (whatever that may be) more than you are reading the Word of God? I don’t care if it is One America News, Fox, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, or even CBN News, Charisma News, or The Victory Channel or Prophets. Are you spending too much time watching these than reading the Word? If you said yes, your god is your news source and you need to repent right away.
Another thing I want to address is the Q movement saying that we need to get the right people in office and then all of the wars etc. will cease because one party is the cause of all of the problems in this world. Back when I was fascinated with Q, I watched 2 videos: one of which was by Praying Medic, AKA Dave Hayes. There was a time when he told of a dream that the Lord gave him where there were two doors. If we walked through Trump’s door, it will be like Christ’s reign on earth. I can’t remember what was in the other door, which is why I wanted to show you the original link, but I can’t find it. The other video was in some series I had been watching. In other terms, essentially they said the same thing: If Trump fulfilled his destiny as President, it will be heaven on earth.
I believe now that Praying Medic only thought he received this from the Lord. This may be true, but it seems idolatrous to insinuate that Trump is going to fix every problem we have including sin itself. That is what’s being perpetrated. I used to believe it, and a part of all of us I’m sure wants to believe it, but Christ is our only hope. The Word says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God,” including our President, Donald J. Trump (Romans 3:23). It’s not like he’s perfect now that he’s become a Christian!
Also, if you watch too much of the news media, don’t think you are always hearing the pure heart of the ₣. You may be in some respects, but your always watching whatever it is you watch taints what the Father wants to tell you. A while back, I wrote a blog that describes how I came to this revelation. Please read the blog and listen to the video very carefully and heed this warning. We have to understand more when we are hearing the Lord and when we are not.
The Word says that if we believe God’s prophets, we will prosper (2 Chronicles 20:20). I believe that this does not mean just the Bible’s major and minor prophets. This is also the modern-day prophets and prophetic voices of whatever generation we’re in. However, the Word of God is inerrant and the prophets ARE NOT. Here’s the deal: Kim Clement says that now is not the time for judgment in this nation, and Mark Taylor, might I add a Q follower, asks, “How is it that America is always the one that is being judged? What about Iran, or Turkey–some of the other countries who thought about doing worse than America ever has?” Well, in her book, The Next Great Move of God: An Appeal To Heaven, Jennifer LeClaire tells of her views about America and judgment before The Harbinger: The Ancient Mystery That Holds The Secret To America’s Future by Jonathan Cahn was written. It was essentially the same thing: Why should America be judged? What about the Netherlands? However, like she and Jonathan Cahn both noted, to whom much is given, much is required (Luke 12:48).
I do like Mark Taylor’s take on the subject though that it is God’s enemies both in the Church and the nation itself who are being judged. That is just one piece of the puzzle though. Remember part 1 and part 2 of the Days of Reckoning series preached by Pastor John Kilpatrick of Church of His Presence. Also, remefber this article from Jim Denison about the subject of God’s judgment. This article enlightened me even more to this subject. Also, read again Deuteronomy 28 as a whole. This deals with the subject of following God and having blessings, and disobeying God and having curses. Always remember this: God will not hold guiltless the unrepentant sinner.
